Viral Village Residents Cry After KKN Students Return Home, There’s a Story of Haru

Real Work Lecture (KKN) is a compulsory subject that must be followed by students. During KKN students can apply the knowledge they have gained to the community directly.

Speaking of that, recently there was a viral video of a villager crying letting KKN students go home. The viral video was uploaded by one of the villagers through his TikTok social media account george_meturan.

“Sincere devotion is rewarded with sincere service ending with sincere tears,” wrote the uploader as a video description as quoted by Yoursay.id, Thursday (18/08/2022).

This KKN student comes from Gajah Mada University, Yogyakarta. They carried out KKN in Dian Village, Hoat Sorbay District, Southeast Maluku Regency, Maluku Province.

On the last date, the UGM KKN student said goodbye to the residents of Dian Village because their service period had ended. All the villagers came at the moment of saying goodbye.

Residents cried that they had to release UGM KKN students who had served in their villages back to their origins. Likewise with UGM KKN students who couldn’t help but shed tears.

“A village of mass crying released the return of KKN students from Gajah Mada University, Yogyakarta in Dian Village, Hoat Sorbay District, Southeast Maluku Regency, Maluku Province,” said George, the video uploader.

One by one the residents of Dian Village hugged the UGM KKN students as a sign of farewell. The residents of Dian Village also escorted UGM KKN students to the airport.

George told how the closeness between Dian Village residents and UGM KKN students caused the moment of parting to flood with tears of emotion. The residents of Dian Village salute the UGM KKN students who have good behavior during their service there.

“They blend into society, they love children, they love their parents, they are polite, they are polite, they embrace, get along with young people, get them to do good things,” said George.

Not only that, the KKN student work program in Dian Village is very helpful for residents. The work programs of UGM KKN students include socializing the manufacture of peanut tempeh, manggot farming, waste decomposition, immunization for toddlers, breastfeeding mothers, and pregnant women, as well as free examinations for the elderly.

In the field of education, the work program of UGM KKN students is to introduce the use of the internet to elementary students and make irrigation canals in junior high schools. Meanwhile, in the field of population, the UGM KKN student work program recorded population data for the residents of Dian Village.

Starting from the registration of KK, KTP, marriage certificates, and birth certificates for residents who do not have it then coordinated with the relevant agencies. For the tourism sector, UGM KKN students renovated the mangrove tourism in Dian Village and the welcome monument.

UGM KKN students are divided into their residences in several residents’ houses. Dian Village residents take turns to provide food and snacks for UGM KKN students.

“Every Sunday, Christians worship with the community in church, Muslims and Hindus also join. That’s what makes people love them,” explained George.
