V BTS Becomes First Asian to Surpass 20 Million Likes on Instagram

Reported via AllkpopKim Taehyung or who is often called V has again shown the influence and dominance of his social media on Instagram since the seven BTS members officially opened their personal accounts in December 2021.

One of the posts uploaded by Taehyung — featuring his favorite pet dog, Yeontan, has successfully reached 20 million likes. With this, V, who uses the Instagram username @thv, now holds the title as the 18th most liked Instagram post of all time. He is also the only Asian in the Top 20 to have entered Wikipedia’s official rankings.

V is now one of ten celebrities in the world to reach this milestone, joining global superstars such as Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Tom Holland and Zendaya.

In the photos he uploaded, V’s pet dog looks adorable when posing in front of the camera, peeking from behind the door, until it can be seen from the wine glass. Since being introduced to cyberspace, Yeontan’s popularity has skyrocketed. The Pomeranian dog is even the first trending on Twitter in the world every time it has a birthday.

Meanwhile, BTS has just made a comeback with an anthology album titled ‘Proof’ which was released on June 10. This album consists of three CDs featuring 48 songs, including three new songs entitled Yet To Come, Run BTS, and For Youth.

Through this anthology album, the boy group consisting of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook has succeeded in making various impressive and proud achievements. The album ‘Proof’ successfully sold 15 million copies on the first day of sales. This album sold out in just ten hours after it was available on the market. This was also confirmed directly by the South Korean charts, Hanteo Chart.

It didn’t stop there, the title song “Yet to Come” managed to dominate the iTunes World chart in less than 24 hours. The music video itself has so far been viewed 105 million times on YouTube.

Meanwhile, the members are busy promoting in South Korea and preparing their respective solo albums. BTS announced that they will be taking a hiatus from group activities to focus on their solo careers. So, from now on each BTS member will release their own official solo album.
