Indonesian mixed doubles badminton players, Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti have decided to withdraw from the second round of the Indonesia Open 2022 which was supposed to be held on Thursday (16/6/2022) this afternoon.
The decision to withdraw was taken because Praveen Jordan was confirmed to have a problem with his waist, so he couldn’t play today’s match. Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti were previously scheduled to compete against representatives of Malaysia, Chen Tan Jie/Valeree Siow.
Information about the withdrawal of Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti from the Indonesia Open 2022 has been confirmed by the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) through its official Twitter account, @INABadminton.
“Jordan / Melati withdraw from the round of 16 of the East Ventures Indonesia Open 2022 because Jordan has problems with his back,” wrote @INABadminton in his latest tweet which was uploaded on Thursday (16/6/2022) at 13.00 WIB.
In addition to PBSI, the club that oversees Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti, namely PB Djarum, also gave a statement regarding the decision to withdraw Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti from the Indonesia Open 2022 championship. The statement was released via its official twitter, @PBDjarum.
“Pramel decided to withdraw from the round of 16 at the Indonesia Open 2022, because Bang Ucok (Praveen Jordan) had back problems in his waist,” wrote PB Djarum in his latest tweet Thursday (16/6/2022) at 13.05 WIB.
The resignation of Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti is clearly the best decision, as a health priority for Praveen Jordan to be ready to face various international badminton matches that lie ahead.
“Even though Mimin knows you are disappointed, but for the sake of good and health, we support you, pal! Get well soon!” continued PB Djarum’s statement in his latest tweet this Thursday afternoon.
Praveen Jordan / Melati Daeva Oktavianti are known to be the only Indonesian representatives in the mixed doubles sector to advance to the round of 16 at the Indonesia Open 2022 championship.
Unfortunately, the decision to withdraw from Praveen Jordan / Melati Daeva Oktavianti at the same time ensured that there was no Indonesian representative in the mixed doubles sector at the Indonesia Open 2022 championship.
Even though Indonesia does not have representatives in the mixed doubles, Indonesia still has 9 other representatives competing today in the men’s doubles, women’s doubles and men’s singles sectors.
