Last Friday (5/8/22), the release of Girls’ Generation’s 7th album titled ‘FOREVER 1′ marked their first comeback after 5 years. On the same day, the eight members of Girls’ Generation attended the press conference for the album’s release.
In this press conference, Girls’ Generation discussed several things including the future direction of the team, Girls’ Generation’s concept at KWANGYA, and how they feel doing activities together as a group after a long time.
Regarding Girls’ Generation’s future, Taeyeon revealed, “Right now, there is very little time to think about the past or the future. The present is so important to us that we haven’t had a chance to get to the future. But we hope everyone enjoys this comeback. And building on what we learned and experienced through this comeback, we will continue to consider Girls’ Generation’s future.”
Taeyeon also explained the concept of Girls’ Generation in the KWANGYA world. He says, “All SM artists have their own story. The concept of Girls’ Generation is ‘The Goddess of Sound’. But because there are several of us who are under different agencies, maybe not everyone knows. The story is still under development, so we also need more time to understand it.”
In addition, Girls’ Generation also got questions about their feelings while recordingana together for the first time since ‘Holiday Night’. YoonA also shared her touching moment during the recording“There’s a song called ‘Lucky Like That’. It was the first song we recorded, and I was the last member to record.”
YoonA added, “In the recording booth, I listened to the recordings of the other members. When I first heard everyone’s voices for the first time in a while, I choked. I want our fans to listen to it too as soon as possible.”
The album and MV for ‘FOREVER 1′ was released on August 5 at 6 p.m. KST. Fans who missed Girls’ Generation also left various comments on YouTube SMTOWN.
