‘Christmas Tree’ V BTS Successfully Enters Top 5 Biggest Digital Sales Weeks!

The song “Christmas Tree” V BTS which is the OST for the Korean drama series “Our Beloved Summer” has once again achieved an extraordinary achievement!

Even though it has been released since December 24, 2021, “Christmas Tree” remains the most internationally successful Korean OST because it is still breaking records until now.

On Sunday (31/7/2022) Allkpop reported that BTS’s V’s song “Christmas Tree” has managed to break into the Top 5 Biggest Digital Sales Weeks of 2022 so far in the United States after selling over 23,500 copies. Currently, V BTS is the only Korean soloist who has successfully entered the Top 5 Biggest Digital Sales Weeks.

Here is the full list of the Top 5 Biggest Digital Sales Weeks in mid-2022 so far:

  1. NICKI MINAJ “Do We Have A Problem?” – sold 48 thousand copies
  2. BTS “Yet To Come” – sold 41.8 thousand copies.
  3. V “Christmas Tree” – sold 23.5 thousand copies
  4. Morgan Wallen – “You Proof” – sold 23.1 thousand copies.
  5. Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” – sold 22.2 thousand copies.

Although it was not heavily promoted because it was not an official solo song but a drama series OST, the song “Christmas Tree” once again proved BTS’s V status as a top singer.

In addition to successfully entering the Top 5 Biggest Digital Sales Weeks, the song “Christmas Tree” also became the first Korean OST song to top the Billboard Digital Song Sales chart. Only two other songs by Korean soloists have ever reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart.

Prior to V, Suga had been the first BTS member to debut a song at No. 1 chart with a collaboration song with Juice WRLD entitled “Girl of My Dreams.” Then PSY also topped the chart in 2012 with “Gangnam Style.”

Not only that, “Christmas Tree” also holds the record for the longest charting OST by a Korean male soloist on the Billboard Global 200 Excl. US, which is for five weeks.
