Being a Handsome Prosecutor at the Minamdang Cafe, Kwon Soo Hyun Says He Wants to Show a New Side

The Korean drama ‘Cafe Minamdang’ is the latest drama starring Seo In Guk and Oh Yeon Seo scheduled for June 27, 2022.

‘Cafe Minamdang’ is an adaptation of a web novel of the same name. Welcoming the release of the drama, Kwon Soo Hyun, one of the actors, shared details about his character for the mystery thriller drama.

Kwon Soo Hyun is lined up to become a skilled and sharp prosecutor named Cha Do Woon from the West District Prosecutor’s Office. Having a polite and kind nature with everyone, Cha Do Woon is also able to make people unable to move with just his intense charisma and cold smile.

The prosecutor did not interact much with the people around him, in fact he also built a high wall. However, his introverted attitude changes unexpectedly due to meeting people at the Minamdang Cafe and Han Jae Hee (played by Oh Yeon Seo).

Through an interview re-released by soompi, Kwon Soo Hyun shared his views on the drama, he admitted that he was very interested in the storyline which was quite unique, “I think it is a perfect drama for this era when everyone gets tired for different reasons. The things that interest me the most are the fast plot development and comedic points which give us room to breathe during a difficult life. ‘Café Minamdang’ is full of light stories but not entirely light,” explained the star of ‘Abyss’ quoted from soompi on Saturday (18/6/2022).

Kwon Soo Hyun also discussed his role of Cha Do Woon as a prosecutor who has a comfortable but awkward character, “He is a level-headed but clumsy character. He is a cute character that is far from the heavy image of a prosecutor. I tried to show a new side, such as the awkwardness, which is different from the calm and serious prosecutor.”

He continued, “Cha Do Won is also like a philanthropist who always follows Han Jae Hee wherever he is and helps him. I think he went to the police station more often than the prosecutor’s office.”

“Café Minamdang” will premiere after the conclusion of “Bloody Heart” on June 27 at 9:50 p.m. KST every Monday and Tuesday.
