Netflix officially announced that it was bringing back seasons 2 and 3 for its original Korean drama ‘Sweet Home’ on Wednesday (15/6/2022) which was warmly welcomed by fans.
The series, which was adapted from a webtoon of the same name, tells the story of monsters who live side by side with humans, which makes humans desperately fight for their lives from the constant pursuit of terror.
The continuation of this season also brings back players who joined the previous season, such as Song Kang, Lee Jin Wook, Lee Si Young, Go Min Si, and Park Gyu Young.
1. Song Kang
Song Kang is a South Korean actor known for his roles in the series ‘Love Alarm,’ ‘Nevertheless,’ ‘Forecasting Love and Weather’ and ‘Sweet Home’.
Re-appearing in the second and third seasons, Song Kang plays the main character Cha Hyun Soo again. Hyun Soo is an lone high school student because his family died in an accident.
Song Kang was born on April 23, 1994. In 2018, Song Kang marked his big screen debut with the fantasy film ‘Beautiful Vampire’.
2. Lee Jin Wook
Ahjussi this one skyrocketed due to his role in the series ‘Air City,’ ‘Nine: Nine Time Travels,’ ‘The Time We Were Not in Love,’ and ‘Voice’.
Through ‘Sweet Home’, this 1981-born actor still plays the role of Pyeon Sang Wook, a mysterious former assassin.
In the previous season, the actor was highly praised for portraying the image of a gangster after it was feared that he would fail because Lee Jin Wook used to play melo-romance roles.
3. Lee Si Young
Next up is Seo Yi Kyung’s character, Lee Si Young’s mother of one. Seo Yi Kyung is a firefighter who joins the survivors and helps them defeat the monsters with her extraordinary martial arts abilities.
In the real world, Lee Si Young is also good at martial arts. He is an active and accomplished amateur boxer. Unfortunately, due to an injury, Lee Si Young retired in 2015.
Lee Si Young made his acting debut in 2008, he also appeared in the series ‘Boys Over Flowers’ with Lee Min Ho and ‘Playful Kiss’ with Kim Hyun Joong.
4. Go Min Si
Go Min Si (born February 15, 1995) is an actress, model, and director under Mystic Story Entertainment. She is known for her roles in ‘Sweet Home,’ ‘Love Alarm,’ ‘Youth of May,’ and ‘The Witch’. He is also known for directing the film ‘Parallel Novel’.
Through his role of Lee Eun Yoo in ‘Sweet Home’, Go Min Si brings the figure of a young girl who dreams of becoming a ballerina. She is the younger sister of Lee Eun Hyeok (played by Lee Do Hyun).
5. Park Gyu Young
‘Dali and Cocky Prince’ star Park Gyu Young still plays the character of Yoon Ji Soo, a strong and brave woman who is the bassist of an indie band.
This girl who was born on July 27, 1993 has a stunning acting, bringing her name to shine in the world of South Korean roles.
Park Gyu Young can be found in dramas ‘The Devil Judge,’ ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,’ and ‘Romance Is A Bonus Book’.
In addition to the five actors above, we will also meet a number of new faces in ‘Sweet Home’ seasons 2 and 3 including Yu Oh Seong, Oh Jung Se, Kim Mu Yeol, and Jung Jinyoung.
The ‘Sweet Home’ trilogy was produced by renowned director Lee Eung Bok. ‘Sweet Home’ seasons 2 and 3 have yet to confirm its broadcast schedule, but the series is suspected to premiere in 2023.
