2022 World Championship: First Day, 7 Indonesian Representatives Scheduled to Compete

Badminton World Championships (BWC) or the 2022 World Championships will be held from 22-28 August 2022 in Tokyo, Japan. The first day of the match which will take place on Monday (22/8/2022) starting at 07.00 WIB will feature the round of 64. 7 representatives of Indonesia in several sectors are scheduled to compete on the first day.

Launch matches The 2022 World Championship released by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) on the Badminton4u application, the following is the schedule for the Indonesian representatives to compete on the first day of the 2022 World Championship:

  • Men’s Singles (MS): Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo vs Ng Tze Yong (MAS), court 2at 07.00 WIB
  • Men’s Singles (MS): Anthony Sinisuka Ginting vs. Ygor Coelho, court 1around 07.50 WIB
  • Mixed Doubles (XD): Rehan Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati vs Lee Jhe-Huei/Hsu Ya Ching (TPE), court 2around 08.40 WIB
  • Men’s Singles (MS): Jonathan Christie vs Toma Junior Popov (FRA), court 2around 09.00 WIB
  • Women’s Singles (WS): Gregoria Mariska Tunjung vs Kirsty Gilmour, court 2, around 09.30 WIB
  • Men’s Singles (MS): Tommy Sugiarto vs Kunlavut Vitidsarn, court 2, around 11.30 WIB
  • Women’s Doubles (WD): Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti/Ribka Sugiarto vs Chang CH/Yang CT, court 1, around 14.30 WIB

The round of 64 of the 2022 World Championship itself will be held for 2 days. Where Tuesday (23/8/2022) there were still several Indonesian representatives who competed in the round of 64 and fought for tickets to advance to the round of 32. An advantage was obtained by the Indonesian men’s doubles team because all Indonesian men’s doubles representatives did not need to compete in the round of 64 and would immediately advance to the round of 32.

The round of 32 will begin on Wednesday (24/8/2022) and Thursday (25/8/2022) starting at 09.00 local time or 07.00 WIB. Furthermore, the quarter-finals will be held on Friday (26/8/2022). The semifinals will be played on Saturday and the final will be played on Sunday.

The 2022 World Championship match itself can be watched through live broadcasts of iNews TV, MNC TV, RCTI+ streaming service, SPO TV and also the official BWF YouTube channel, BWF TV.
